FluentPet is seeking a freelance Electronic CAD (ECAD) Designer to support the next version of our Connect product line by handling schematic design and PCB layout. This is a flexible, project-based role, ideal for an experienced designer who can work independently while collaborating with our team.

The project will involve two development boards and two final designs, each estimated to take about one week, but not necessarily on consecutive weeks. Given the nature of the work, we’re looking for someone for a short term project available on an hourly basis rather than a fixed contract.

Project Scope & Responsibilities:

• Design two development PCBs and two final design iterations

• Work with ESP32-S3, AXP2101, USB-C, and an audio codec (experience with these is a plus)

• Create full schematics and board layouts in KiCad

• Deliver complete KiCad project files, including libraries, schematics, and PCB layouts

• Provide exported Gerber files and detailed manufacturing instructions for a board house

• Collaborate on refining the design from an initial block schematic and description

• Iterate based on feedback to finalize the design

Requirements:

• Strong experience with KiCad PCB design, including schematic capture and board layout

• Prior work with ESP32-S3, AXP2101, USB-C power & data integration, and audio codec design (preferred)

• Experience designing for embedded systems, power management, and audio interfaces

• Ability to deliver well-documented designs with clear manufacturing instructions

• Good communication and ability to iterate based on feedback

If you're interested, please send examples of relevant past PCB designs, particularly any using ESP32-S3, AXP2101, USB-C, or audio codecs.
